When Alfred Brendel re-invented his career and decided to focus on the lecture/demonstration aspects of music that he loved, he put out this marvelous collection of his favorites. These works include:
- The piano sonatas # 30 and 32 of Beethoven
- Four Haydn sonatas
- Several works by Liszt
- Mozart Sonata and the Fantasia K. 397
- Several sonatas by Schubert
These works are collected on this CD, which is a remarkable testimony to an artist’s achievements.
