When we attend concerts, we frequently hear instruments, especially string instruments, that may have been built originally in the 1600’s all the way to current times. We rarely give thought to the fact that these old instruments will occasionally fail. If such failure occurs during a concert, fast action to provide the soloist with a replacement instrument is required. Otherwise all music stops.
