Bach flute sonatas!

There are 15 tracks of beautifully-played Flute and Harpsichord sonatas on this recording:

Sonatas in A-Minor; A-Major; E-Flat; G-Minor, and B-Minor. These are performed by:

• Joshua Smith, flute; and
• Jory Vinikour, Harpsichord

The interpretation is excellent, and the musical balance between these two sensitive instrumentalists is outstanding! This is Bach at his finest, particularly if you want to listen to intimate chamber music, opposed to orchestral sound. Hear the variety, color, and wonderful Bach phrasing of these two musicians! For me this is music for contemplation, for thought, for thinking about the past and the future…

Who's Hank

Hank Zauderer is a violinist and an artist. He regularly hosts an evening classical music program at NPR radio station KUSP in Santa Cruz, California. In the past he was a member of several symphony orchestras and chamber music groups. In particular, he loves the study of great composers and feels that music composition so often reflects the key events that took place in a composer's life.

Hank's taste includes the old Gregorian Chants and related religious works as well as music of the Baroque, Classical, and the Romantic period. Some of his favorites include Mahler, Edward Elgar, Leonard Bernstein, Igor Stravinsky, and Benjamin Britten.
