Mozart’s Clarinet Music
Sabine Meyer is viewed today as one of the best clarinetists of our time. Many years ago she attempted to secure a position as the principal clarinet with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. In those days, there were very few female members in most European orchestras, and an ugly political upheaval developed. Ultimately, Ms. Meyer left, and decided to pursue the chamber music world instead.
In 1983, Ms. Meyer founded the family ensemble “Trio di Clarone” together with her husband Reiner Wehle and her brother Wolfgang Meyer with the aim of performing forgotten treasures of the chamber music repertoire, which they perform either as a trio or with additional guest musicians.
