Mozart: Sonatas for Piano and Violin

Mozart:

  • Violin Sonata No. 25 in F major, K377
  • Violin Sonata No. 32 in B flat major, K454
  • Violin Sonata No. 35 in A major, K526
  • Serenade No. 7 in D major, K250 ‘Haffner’ – Rondo

(arr. Kreisler)

Performed by Friederike Starkloff (violin) and José Gallardo (piano)
To be released January 31, 2012

Here is a young violinist, who has a nice feeling for the music, yet — in my view — is not quite ready with expression and technique to be launched into “prime time”. But… watch and see… people learn, work hard, and ultimately have something meaningful to say to us about their music…

The CD tracks are:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Violin Sonata No. 25 in F major, K. 377
I. Allegro
II. Theme and Variations: Andante
III. Tempo di Minuetto

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Violin Sonata No. 32 in B flat major, K. 454
I. Largo – Allegro
II. Andante
III. Allegretto

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sonata for Keyboard and Violin No. 35 in A major, K. 526
I. Molto allegro
II. Andante
III. Presto

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Serenade No. 7 in D major, K. 250, “Haffner” (arr. F. Kreisler)
Serenade No. 7 in D major, K. 250, “Haffner”: IV. Rondo: Allegretto (arr. F. Kreisler)

While I could not locate a video of Ms. Starkloff’s interpretation of these sonatas, here is the Mozart duo kv423 Rondo, performed by Friederike Starkloff-violin, and Ladislau-Cristian Andris-viola:
