Sir Georg Solti conducts the Chicago Symphony Orchestra

Sir Georg Solti was one of my very favorite orchestral conductors. He was an assistant to Arturo Toscanini in Salzburg, Austria, at the music festival there. He was an amazing conductor of the music of Richard Strauss. And he knew how to rehearse and to prepare singers to assure their excellence in performance. (See example below)

Sir Georg Solti died on September 5th, 1997
