Brahms Piano Masterpieces

Brahms:

  • Piano Pieces, Op. 116-119

Johannes Brahms was a terrific pianist. He gave concerts in Europe, and he also toured with the world famous violinist Joseph Joachim. It was Mr. Joachim who premiered Brahms’ violin concerto.

Composing for the piano was a natural activity for Brahms, because he knew the instrument so well. And the piano pieces that are the subject of this recording are some of the most wonderful and satisfying music that Brahms produced. Here are a few selections from my Spotify file:
