On this CD, Anne-Sophie Mutter teams up with long-time collaborators Andre Previn, piano, and Daniel Mueller-Schott, cello, for performances of Mozart’s Piano Trios, filmed in Mantua’s magnificent 18th-century Teatro Bibiena.
Mozart’s music is played beautifully, with stress on the lovely melodies of these piano trios. The themes are handed to each of these expert players, for their own presentation, while the other two provide the role of supporter and accompanist. It is an excellent performance.
