  • Symphonie Fantastique

On this CD, the Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio Network features performances of music from different eras.

In the “Symphonie fantastique” by Hector Berlioz, Mariss Jansons, Chief Conductor of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, investigates the dream worlds of the Romantic period.

And in “Ionisation”, a contemporary work by Edgard Varèse, Mr. Jansons shows us complex musical structures that are developed into a sensual experience.

Both these works were important starting-points for the dawn of a new musical age.
