Israel Philharmonic concert.

Israel Philharmonic Event.

In my previous post about conductor Zubin Mehta, I wrote about him being in NYC to conduct the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra during Carnegie Hall’s Vienna Festival.

Less travel is a good thing these days, and Mr. Mehta remains in town to lead the Israel Philharmonic, of which he is music director for life.

The violinist Pinchas Zukerman and his wife, the cellist Amanda Forsyth, are the soloists in Johannes Brahms’ Double Concerto.

Also on the program is the Concertino for String Orchestra by Oedeon Partos (the orchestra’s principal violist from 1938 to 1956).

The concert ends with Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony.

Venue:

  • Carnegie Hall. 212-247-7800.

Date:

  • March 20th at 7 PM

Here is the Concerto for Violin, Cello and Orchestra by J. Brahms, with Pinchas Zukerman, violin, and Amanda Forsyth, Cello:

And here’s another performance of the same work: The Brahms Double concerto with Julia Fischer and Daniel Müller-Schott:
