Yundi –

  • Emperor / Fantasie.

German composer Robert Schumann was born 40 years after Beethoven’s birth.

On this CD, we get an interesting combination of musical works: The Beethoven “Emperor” concerto for piano and orchestra, paired with seemingly an encore from the romantic period, the Schumann Fantasie, Op. 17.

The performer is pianist Yundi Li, from whom we are hearing an ever increasing list of very enjoyable performances:

Beethoven:

  • Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat major, Op. 73 ‘Emperor’

Schumann:

  • Fantasie in C major, Op. 17
