Richter’s Beethoven.

Beethoven: Piano Sonata No. 29 in B-flat major, Op. 106 ‘Hammerklavier’

  • Recorded Live in London 18/6/1976

Performed by Sviatoslav Richter (piano)

Pianist Sviatoslav Richter performed music repertoire that ranged from Bach to Webern, and Richter’s classical sonata repertoire includes 22 of the 32 sonatas by Beethoven.

Recently the Richter estate has begun to authorize some public concert recordings of excellent quality to document the many-faceted personality that is Richter.

This performance of the Beethoven ‘Hammerklavier’ sonata is totally amazing, and recorded live at the Royal Festival Hall, on the 18th of June 1976.
