Pine Plays Mozart.

Mozart:

On this album violinist Rachel Barton Pine, violist Matthew Lipman, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, and Sir Neville Marriner give us a gift in the form of the amazing beauty of Mozart’s music.

We get to listen to the following selections:

Mozart:

  • Violin Concertos Nos. 1-5 (Complete)
  • Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola & Orchestra in E flat major, K364, with Matthew Lipman (viola)

Performed by Rachel Barton Pine, violin, with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, conducted by Sir Neville Marriner.

In celebration of Mozart’s birthday on the 27th of January and also Sir Neville Marriner’s 90th birthday, violinist Rachel Barton Pine performs the five Mozart Violin Concertos, as well as the Sinfonia Concertante.

Rachel Pine has drawn on a tremendous amount of research in creating her interpretations. Her study of the composer’s operas strengthened her appreciation for the drama and playfulness of Mozart’s music.
