  • String Quartet No. 17 in B flat major, K458 ‘The Hunt’
  • String Quartet No. 22 in B flat major, K589 ‘Prussian No. 2’

Performed by the Jerusalem String Quartet

After two recordings featuring the works of Haydn, the Jerusalem Quartet turns to the compositions of Mozart in this terrific CD. This collection of three quartets ranges from the early one, K157, to the very late Prussian Quartet #2.

This CD provides the listener with some wonderful music, interpreted in a warm, capable, and exciting way by a terrific group of musicians. Members of the quartet are:

  • Alexander Pavlovsky – 1st violin
  • Sergei Bresler – 2nd violin
  • Amichai Grosz – viola
  • Kyril Zlotnikov – cello

The Jerusalem Quartet was founded in 1993, and began its training in Jerusalem, under the direction of the violinist Avi Abramovitch.

The Quartet is grateful to Daniel Barenboim who generously loans Jacqueline du Pré’s ‘Sergio Perresson’ cello to Kyril Zlotnikov.

Here’s a wonderful video of the Jerusalem Quartet performing the Mozart Quartet K.421:
