I have written before about Soprano Christiane Karg, and I shared with you how much I admire her interpretation of the music of Richard Strauss.
Here is an example of a recording by Ms Karg, with music in which she excels. Yet Gustav Mahler is missing:
Mahler and Strauss both lived during the late 1800’s, and they often performed each other’s music. As such, it is not surprising that the excellent soprano Christiane Karg would also perform the music of Gustav Mahler, yet I have heard her perform it rarely.
Here she is in a section of Mahler’s Symphony number 4, as adapted for a chamber ensemble:
