Beethoven’s #4 and #7

The symphonies number 3, 5,  and 6 by Ludwig van Beethoven set the music world on fire. To this day, these great symphonic works by Beethoven are certainly crowd pleasers.

On this recording we hear two other works that I love just as much. These are the quiet, thoughtful Fourth, and the exciting Seventh.

Beethoven:

  • Symphony No. 4 in B flat major, Op. 60
  • Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92

Grammy-award winning conductor Paavo Järvi has built a remarkable conducting reputation. Born in Tallinn, Estonia, he studied percussion and conducting at the Tallinn School of Music. Them in 1980, he moved to the USA where he continued his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music and at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, with Leonard Bernstein.
