Nov. 7-9: Israel Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall

Zubin Mehta, who will retire as music director of the Israel Philharmonic in 2019, returns to Carnegie Hall for three concerts.

In the first concert, he teams up with the pianist Yefim Bronfman in Beethoven’s Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, as well as the New York première of a piece by an Israeli composer (Amit Poznansky’s “Footnote” Suite) and by Strauss’s “Ein Heldenleben.”

The second program offers Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, an event that also features mezzo-soprano Mihoko Fujimura, Master Voices, and the Manhattan Girls Chorus.

The final evening we get to hear Gil Shaham in a concert featuring music by Weber, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto), and Schubert’s Symphony No. 9.
