Intimate Moment.

Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim.

Performing Chamber music can lead to moments of touching intimacy between musicians. This is particularly so when just two people get together to make music.

Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim are amazing artists and performers; they both come from Buenos Aires, and both have made global careers for themselves.

Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim are not only fellow countrymen; they also both began to give concerts in their youth, as piano soloists and also with an orchestra. In addition, the two have a particular interest in chamber music in common – their repertoire spanning from the classics to modernism.

Watch now as they appeared together at a concert in Berlin: a summit meeting of two of the most eminent pianists of the past few decades and of the present, something which is well worth watching.

At the very start of the following video, there’s a brief comment before they begin to play. Then for just two seconds, Mr. Barenboim places his left hand on Ms. Argerich’s right hand, as though to warm up the hand, or to transmit good Karma. See photo at the top left:

Here’s the entire video:

A truly wonderful moment, huh?
