Renee Fleming sings…
Soprano Renée Fleming has been delighting audiences with her magnificent voice, sensitive artistry, and amazing stage presence for many years. Over the past few seasons, Ms. Fleming has also been hosting a wide variety of television and radio broadcasts, including the Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD series for movie theaters and television, and Live from Lincoln Center on PBS.
Ms. Fleming’s new CD called “Verismo” features a collection of Italian arias with Orchestral accompaniment. This CD celebrates the composers who created the so-called Verismo style. Included are favorite Puccini arias from La Bohème, Turandot, Manon Lescaut, Il Trittico, and others.
This recording has 17 tracks; I was delighted that four of the selections are from La Boheme, which is one of my favorite operas.
Sopranos with Ms. Fleming’s beauty of voice are rare. At the same time, we hear her as a musician who executes in a sensitive manner, and who provides us great pleasure via the richness of her tone, and her attention to fine musical detail.
