Paul Lewis, Pianist!
Mr. Lewis is a student of Alfred Brendel; Lewis has won a Gramophone Award for every Beethoven Sonatas recital disc he has recorded, including the prestigious Recording of the Year in 2008.
Throughout 2005, 2006, and 2007, Paul Lewis toured the USA and Europe, playing through the entire cycle of Beethoven’s 32 sonatas. And now he has recorded for Harmonia Mundi all 5 of Beethoven’s Piano Concerti, as well.
Recorded between July 2009 and March 2010, these interpretations paint a portrait of Beethoven’s masterpieces in many new aspects that are a delight for the listener to hear.
