Kleiber!

Carlos Kleiber conducts CPE Bach & Telemann

This is an early Kleiber performance and with an unexpected repertoire of Carl Philip Emanuel Bach and Georg Philipp Telemann. It is a recording for music lovers, like me, who consider Carlos Kleiber to have been one of the planet’s truly phenomenal orchestra conductors.

Bach, C P E:

  • Cello Concerto No. 2 in B flat major, Wq 171

Telemann:

  • Suite in B flat major

Performed by the Hamburger Rundfunkorchester (Radio Orchestra of Hamburg), conducted by Carlos Kleiber

Here is Carlos Kleiber, conducting the Bavarian State Orchestra in Beethoven’s 7th symphony

And now I have for you Kleiber’s wonderful interpretation of the Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98 by Johannes Brahms

As an encore, here is Maestro Carlos Kleiber and the Wiener Philharmoniker in
A terrific performance of Johann Strauß’ waltz “An der schönen blauen Donau” (On the beautiful, blue Danube)
