Like all entertainers and performers, orchestra conductors do an awful lot of travel. It is a tough struggle for most, but some artists have the spirit and stamina to endure it.
Michael Tilson Thomas is no exception. And as a San Francisco Bay Area resident, I am always delighted that he is back in town.
For the next two weeks, you have an opportunity to attend the first of a series of concerts that will feature the performance of all of the symphonies by Robert Schumann.
At this first concert, we get to hear Schumann’s Symphony #3. Also on the program is the wonderful Violin Concerto by Jean Sibelius, as performed by Leonidas Kavakos.
