Deaths of Three Musicians

Musicians often live very long lives because they followed their passion in life. As an example, Arturo Toscanini lived to age 95. But there were unusual exceptions as well. (See notes under the images)

In 2001, conductor Giuseppe Sinopoli died on stage after having a heart attack while conducting the Opera ‘Aida’ by Giuseppe Verdi at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin.

Violinist David Oistrakh died at age 66 while on a concert tour in Amsterdam.

Violinist Yehudi Menuhin died at age 82 in Berlin, Germany while on a concert tour.
