Ohlsson combines the earliest score which Brahms approved for publication (the Scherzo Op. 4, composed when he was just 18) with the Fantasias Op. 116, the Intermezzi Op. 117, and the Klavierstücke Op. 118.
Ohlsson’s previous Brahms album Had BBC Music Magazine describe him as ‘a born Brahmsian’, and The Guardian praising his ‘iron-clad technique and robust, forward tone’.
