Andreas Ottensamer Plays Romantic Clarinet Works

The CD of the Month for April 2019 features the clarinetist Andreas Ottensamer, who plays with the Berlin Philharmonic.

This is a somewhat unusual yet creative recording which features the Clarinet Concerto by Carl Maria von Weber, and also several shorter extracts of Romantic works for clarinet and piano played with Yuja Wang.

Andreas Ottensamer was born in 1989 in Vienna. He comes from an Austro-Hungarian family of musicians and was drawn to music early, receiving his first piano lessons when he was four. At the age of ten he began studying cello at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and he switched to the clarinet in 2003.
