Evgeny Kissin Plays Bach’s Siciliano,BWV 1031

The SICILIANO is an Italian dance (in English Siciliana; in French Sicilienne), usually in a minor key, in the meter of 6/8, which uses the distinctive rhythmic figure: dotted eighth, sixteenth, eighth.

This theme has been adapted for many instruments; it apparently originated in Bach’s sonata for flute, and now can be heard in arrangements for Cello, and other instruments.

As such, here is this amazing music presented for piano solo as performed by the young Evgeny Kissin:
